Shopping in San Francisco

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I posted so I'm really sorry about that. It's because of finals week, but now I'm on spring break so weeeee I'm back in San Francisco! I also apologize in advance that these pictures won't be the best quality because I don't have the DSLR with me. These pictures are all taken with my iPhone haha.

So today was a "Me Day" which means "Thrift Day." Every time I get the chance to spend some time alone, I usually go to the Van Ness Goodwill because that's my favorite thrift store. Literally! Of course I left the store with more than one item. I also went to downtown to check out Forever 21 and H&M. Forever 21 was having a 30% all jewelry so I took advantage of the sale and picked up a few pieces. As for H&M, I had a $6 Wrapp giftcard that was going to expire soon, so I used that as well. Oh, and if you're a student, you can use your Student ID at H&M to get 15% your entire purchase! Sweet huh. Anyway, I spent more than I usually do today sadly. I'm pretty frugal about how much I spend on clothing because I know I can get a lot of cheap and great quality items at thrift stores. But I don't regret anything I bought! I love em all :)

Quick OOTD!

I debated for a long time if I should get the H&M green jacket because it was pretty expensive. I did end up getting $21 off my entire purchase though so I felt a little bit better afterwards haha. Hope y'all enjoyed this haul. Thanks for tuning in. Wishing you all a great spring break!

Flower Power

Denim Top: Thrifted | Dress: Thrifted | Shoes: Converse | Bag: Nicaragua

Surprise surprise! Shybear Kim is finally posting an OOTD! Hahaha. I had so much fun with Tina today at Sawtelle. Although it was a short adventure, it was a sweet adventure as you see me surrounded by all these beautiful flowers. I debated for a long time whether I should be studying or if I should be going out to have some fun with Tina. But I realized I needed some fresh air after such a long, stressful, and super sick week. Glad I went on this short trip!

As you may or may not know, I'm a thrift-a-holic. It wouldn't be shocking if my whole outfit was from a thrift shop! The weather was pretty nice today so I threw on a spring dress that I thrifted from Goodwill for that light and breezy feel. Over the dress, I wore a denim shirt that was also thrifted but from a different Goodwill. Goodwill never fails me! I liked pairing these two pieces together because it gives off a girly and casual vibe at the same time. My bag that I'm wearing was given to me as a souvenir from my dear friend, Selena. She bought it from her trip to Nicaragua. I always receive compliments whenever I wear this bag, and I absolutely love it so thanks Selena if you're reading! As for shoes, I just threw on some old converse. You can never go wrong with classic white chucks!

I hope I have inspired some of you to give thrift shopping a try with my outfit! Go with an open mind because you never know, you might find a high end product for much cheaper at your local thrift store!

Saturdays at Sawtelle

ALL THAT SMOG THOUGH.

Ahh, thank goodness for the existence of Saturdays. This week has been pretty hectic for us two especially since we both had our math midterms on Friday. With everyone gone and off doing their own things, we decided to go on an adventure in Sawtelle!

We took the UCLA bus/trolley from our hall into Westwood then walked to the bus stop. They really should have the trolley working on the weekdays because Supermarket Saturdays is just not enough. Anyway, we got on the bus and reached Sawtelle in about thirty minutes. Our first stop was at the UCLA Thrift Store. Honestly, it's not that big and the items are slightly overpriced for what recycled bags and shoes should be worth, but the clothing items aren't too bad. We would definitely prefer a Goodwill or Salvation Army though.

After browsing through the store, we proceeded to our next stop: Daiso. If you don't know what it is, it's a really cute and affordable Japanese store. They have pretty much everything in there from home decorations to face makeup for only $1.50 each (or $3.00 for certain items). It's just an amazing place, especially for two broke college girls. Afterwards, we spent a good hour in Marshalls and Michael's so that Tina could pick up some stuff for the dorm room and her scrapbooking needs.

Now if you know Westwood well enough, you would also know that there is absolutely no good boba within walking distance--with the exception of Hedrick Late Night now, but there's not much of a variety. So when we got to Sawtelle, we seized the opportunity to satisfy our cravings at Coco's. The line there is always so long! We waited about ten minutes until it was our turn to order. Oh wells.

Our very last stop before we headed back to school was at a nursery so that we could take pictures. All the flowers are just so beautiful there! We're definitely coming back one day for more pictures with the other girls huhuhu.

You can read about Kim's outfit here and Tina's here.

Hope y'all also had a wonderful Saturday!

Forever 21 Haul

Marvel Muscle Tee $8.00

Heathered Babydoll Dress $8.80

Maroon Maxi Skirt $10.44

Rose Garden Shorts $8.80

All the items!

Items not pictured:
Grey Maxi Skirt $10.44
Basic Knee-length Skirt $4.74
High-Waisted Skinny Jeans $8.00
Everyday Crop Top $7.18

Putting four girls who love clothes into the same room may not be the best idea. Angie, Mags, Tina and I ended up going crazy on Forever 21's website. I'm not the biggest fan of Forever 21 clothing because of its cheap quality (They are indeed improving on the quality though!). But you know, if you're a college student who likes to procrastinate, oftentimes you do end up catching yourself browsing through online clothing stores. Not shocking at all, I added all the cute items into my shopping cart and soon enough, I realized I had way too many items. Ya girl does not have that much money to spend! Luckily, Tina told me about this $15 off $75 deal so I immediately narrowed my cart to 8 items which isn't too bad since I haven't bought anything in a long time.

I'm pretty happy with all my purchases. My favorite items would probably have to be the Heathered Babydoll Dress and the Black High-Waisted Jeans (not pictured). Most of the items are still on Forever 21. So if you guys like any of the clothes, feel free to search up the item on their site! Waiting for the package to come was hilarious because Tina would text me, "Omg, our package is coming on Wednesday!" the next day... "PACKAGE IS COMING IN TODAY!" We both were that excited haha.

You might notice I won't be posting any OOTD's because I'm a little shy bear who doesn't like to pose heheheh... I enjoy taking pictures for my girls anyway. But maybe one day I'll randomly appear on the blog with all this new clothing!

Meet Kim

Nickname: Mama Kim (Because I'm always taking care of people haha)

Hometown: San Francisco, CA

Style: Casual & Comfortable

Favorite clothing/accessory item(s): Of course my favorite clothing items would have to be sweaters and cardigans because these pieces work well with many items. Plus, it can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize your outfit! Oh, I can't forget my beanies and head wraps for those bad hair days!

Interests: Thrifting, painting nails, going on hikes, taking long walks on the beach, and watching Korean dramas, duh!

Fun Fact: I love hot cheetos! If you give me the biggest bag of hot cheetos, I'll probably be able to eat it all in one day.
