Baby, I'm your National Anthem

Tank: Brandy Melville (American Vintage) | Shorts: American Apparel | Hat: H&M | Sandals: Birkenstocks | Flannel: F21| Bralette: Brandy Melville

I hope all you Americans had a great Fourth of July! I had an awesome day spending time with family and friends. I recently came back home to SoCal after a trip to Texas, so it was great being back in the perfect California weather. Now that Summer has officially started the girls and I will have much more time to work on the blog. So, apologies for the long hiatus.

Now, moving on to the outfit I wore for this occasion. I opted for my American flag tank from Brandy Melville because I mean what would be more appropriate? For bottoms I'm wearing my acid wash high-waisted shorts from American Apparel because they give a rustic appeal to the outfit and are super comfy. Birkenstocks are my current obsession because they're a great combo of cute and comfy. They're actually really popular right now and are sold out almost everywhere so if you want some, you should get on it soon. However, my Rainbows haven't been replaced, I still love them to death! I usually have issues with finding a nice hat that will rest on my head comfortably and won't block my line of sight, but this brown wool hat that I recently hauled from H&M is so light on my head and shades my face so perfectly. Finally, I didn't feel patriotic enough so I added a red, white and blue patterned flannel to complete the look.

I'll be leaving for the Caribbean in a couple weeks so look forward to some posts about that. Wishing you guys the best summer ever!

Shopping in San Francisco

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I posted so I'm really sorry about that. It's because of finals week, but now I'm on spring break so weeeee I'm back in San Francisco! I also apologize in advance that these pictures won't be the best quality because I don't have the DSLR with me. These pictures are all taken with my iPhone haha.

So today was a "Me Day" which means "Thrift Day." Every time I get the chance to spend some time alone, I usually go to the Van Ness Goodwill because that's my favorite thrift store. Literally! Of course I left the store with more than one item. I also went to downtown to check out Forever 21 and H&M. Forever 21 was having a 30% all jewelry so I took advantage of the sale and picked up a few pieces. As for H&M, I had a $6 Wrapp giftcard that was going to expire soon, so I used that as well. Oh, and if you're a student, you can use your Student ID at H&M to get 15% your entire purchase! Sweet huh. Anyway, I spent more than I usually do today sadly. I'm pretty frugal about how much I spend on clothing because I know I can get a lot of cheap and great quality items at thrift stores. But I don't regret anything I bought! I love em all :)

Quick OOTD!
Cardigan: Thrifted | Tank: F21 | Jeans: F21 | Shoes: Just Fab | Bag: Thrifted

 Baseball Shirt: Goodwill $3.49

 Marbled Thin Sweater: Goodwill $4.49

 Granny Pants (hehe): Goodwill $2.99

 White Lace Dress: Goodwill $7.49

Speckled Hoodie: H&M $19.95 (discount not included)

Green Jacket: H&M $49.95 (discount not included)

I debated for a long time if I should get the H&M green jacket because it was pretty expensive. I did end up getting $21 off my entire purchase though so I felt a little bit better afterwards haha. Hope y'all enjoyed this haul. Thanks for tuning in. Wishing you all a great spring break!

Pocketful of sunshine

Top, Maxi skirt, & Shades: F21

Even with the stress of finals, pledging, work, etc. hitting me right in the face, I honestly could not have asked for a better 19th birthday. Here's a quick shoutout to those who made it extra special:

  • My boyfriend for the F21 spree and Fujifilm Instax 210 polaroid (I LUUUV IT)
  • Floormates for my North Face Jester backpack
  • Pledge brothers for the wonderful surprise cheesecake and taking time out of your day to plan it
  • My best friends who called me at midnight
and to anyone and everyone who wished me a "Happy Birthday." It really means a lot to me knowing that I am surrounded by so much lovin'. Y'alls are the bestest!

Anyway, on to my outfit for today, the weather decided to warm up a bit, and I took the opportunity to dress lightly. I paired my favorite daisy print maxi skirt with this very cute yet simple white halter. The only problem I have with this chiffon (hence, see-through) skirt is that the small bit of fabric underneath always tends to ride up. To not have to worry about flashing people, I tossed on a separate pencil skirt. Problem solved. In addition, I have been having an obsession with black and white as of recently. THEY JUST MATCH WITH EVERYTHING. But to avoid another day of just those two colors, I pulled on this bat-winged, crochet burgundy cardi.

Do you want to know a secret? Sometimes I just put on a pair of sunglasses on my head for the look, but I don't actually use them to protect my eyes from the sun. Suffering for fashion is not something new or unusual in my book.

NOW... onward to studying. I have found enough excuses to not touch my books, but it is time that I start focusing. Can't wait until this next week is over. I hope y'all aren't as stressed out as we are!! Until next time,

xx Tina

Springing Forward

Dress: Brandy Melville | Bralette: Brandy Melville
Sandals: Forever 21 | Shades: Urban Outfitters

Hi hi again, everyone! Finals are right around the corner and so is my death, loljk. But anyways, I wanted to post an outfit now just in case I would be too lazy or busy to post in the future. Onto the outfit though! I think this outfit is pretty simple and straightforward. I wore a dress today because it is getting super warm here in LA! I paired up this sunflower pattern dress with brown sandals because I thought the yellow, white, and brown supplement each other well. I think you all can see that I really enjoy warm undertones. Now that it's approaching spring, I'm pretty excited to wear more shorts, dresses, and skirts! ... Mainly because I dislike wearing pants.

Until next time! Below is a photo of how I feel about finals week. Wish the other ladies and I luck!

Polka-dot knotted tank: American Vintage $7

Gold V necklace: Brandy Melville $9

Hey ladies and/or gents! This post is way overdue, but I'm finally posting my haul! So I went a bit crazy at Brandy per usual and stocked up on tons of gold jewelrymy favorite. The first thing to catch my eye were the Yin and Yang rings. I've never seen any rings like them. They're so original and add a classy/edgy look to any outfit. The dainty arrow ring is super feminine and cute. These acid wash drawstring shorts are my current obsession. They're perfect to lounge in like PJ shorts or to wear out in public with a cheeky outfit. The drawstring is the highlight of the shorts and adds a subtle detail that makes them anything but ordinary. The cropped American flag tank and the polka dotted knotted tank were such a steal! I'm notorious for being an instinctive shopper and I usually spend more than I should which I have come to terms with, but I'm super proud of these two purchases. The shop that I bought them from was a vintage clothing store and had a huge selection of retro pieces from different brand names.
The triangle ring that I purchased from Urban outfitters is actually a little too big for me because I bought it online and couldn't try it on, but I just wear it on my thumb and it all works out fine. One finger that I never wear rings on is my pinky, so the peace ring that I got is the perfect solution. The Gold V necklace is such an abstract piece of jewelry that adds an artistic style to any outfit. The baby skin face primer is actually a product that I've been hearing a lot about and decided to test out. I can attest to all the hype. It really does smooth out your make-up and the packaging is absolutely adorable. NYX lip products are amazing! I always layer the plum lip liner, lip butter, and matte lip cream to make a velvety, vampy look. I always have an issue with looking too pale with my make-up and I couldn't decide if I needed a blush or a bronzer, so I opted for a blush and bronzer combo to add some color to my face. This elf compact is said to be a dupe of the NARS orgasm and for the price that I paid I think that it is a pretty good alternative.
I hope you all loved what I purchased because I know I do. Thanks for staying tuned and showing us support. We'll make sure to keep posting things that we hope you like. Also, don't forget that if you have any comments or concerns you can always email us. All the contact info should be in the "contact" tab. Alright, till next time loves.

Warm Tones

Top: Zara | Jeans: Tinseltown | Sandals: F21 | Bag: F21

Hello hello again, everyone! It's about time I create my second outfit of the day post ha ha ha whoops.. Anyways, I attended a birthday lunch with some friends today! It was a casual event, so I kept it simple today. But who says that you can't keep it fashionable even if you're being casual? That's why I paired a loose-fitted chiffon top with some high-waisted jeans (They're Tina's -- thanks homegirl!) and sandals. Since my top had a bold pattern, I knew I had to keep the rest of the outfit more plain. If there's too many patterns or vibrant colors meshed together, it could end in a disaster. I also didn't wear that many accessories because the focus of the outfit was on the torso. The bag I wore is pretty versatile: it can be sported at a clubbing event or can be toned down like the following outfit.

If you didn't notice, I dyed my hair ombre! As for the other parts of the look, I wore red lipstick because I thought it complimented the warm color scheme of my outfit.

To conclude, I hope you all are doing well. Finals season is approaching soon, so I'm going to crack down the hammer soon. It's like we never get a break here :(

So peace out, girl scout! My friends know that I throw up the peace sign.....a lot....
And with that, I leave you this photo.

Flower Power

Denim Top: Thrifted | Dress: Thrifted | Shoes: Converse | Bag: Nicaragua

Surprise surprise! Shybear Kim is finally posting an OOTD! Hahaha. I had so much fun with Tina today at Sawtelle. Although it was a short adventure, it was a sweet adventure as you see me surrounded by all these beautiful flowers. I debated for a long time whether I should be studying or if I should be going out to have some fun with Tina. But I realized I needed some fresh air after such a long, stressful, and super sick week. Glad I went on this short trip!

As you may or may not know, I'm a thrift-a-holic. It wouldn't be shocking if my whole outfit was from a thrift shop! The weather was pretty nice today so I threw on a spring dress that I thrifted from Goodwill for that light and breezy feel. Over the dress, I wore a denim shirt that was also thrifted but from a different Goodwill. Goodwill never fails me! I liked pairing these two pieces together because it gives off a girly and casual vibe at the same time. My bag that I'm wearing was given to me as a souvenir from my dear friend, Selena. She bought it from her trip to Nicaragua. I always receive compliments whenever I wear this bag, and I absolutely love it so thanks Selena if you're reading! As for shoes, I just threw on some old converse. You can never go wrong with classic white chucks!

I hope I have inspired some of you to give thrift shopping a try with my outfit! Go with an open mind because you never know, you might find a high end product for much cheaper at your local thrift store!

xx Kim
